HydraFacial FAQs

What is Hydrafacial and how does it work?

HydraFacial is a patented, medical grade hydradermabrasion resurfacing treatment that clears out your pores and hydrates your skin. The six-step treatment process includes detoxing, cleansing and exfoliating, brightening, extracting, hydrating and finally rejuvenating. Dead skin cells and impurities are removed, and the skin is hydrated with antioxidants and peptides which can be tailored to address your specific skin needs.

Each step ensures that treatment promotes and restores skin health.

  1. DETOX – special lymphatic draining technique boosts circulation and eliminates toxins
  2. CLEANSING & EXFOLIATION – dead skin cells and impurities are gently removed for a truly deep-clean
  3. BRIGHTENING AGENT – gentle glycolic and salicylic solutions brighten your skin by removing debris
  4. EXTRACTION – honey extract and salicylic acid are used to lift blackheads and impurities from congested areas
  5. HYDRATION – hyaluronic acid, antioxidants and peptides are combined to replenish, plump, and hydrate your skin
  6. REJUVENATION – LED light is used to stimulate collagen and reduce redness leaving your skin rejuvenated and glowing

The Hydrafacial machine is fitted with a hand-held, pen-like treatment head that is fitted with specially shaped tips, push in ampoules of serums, and uses vacuum suction to remove the liquids and debris extracted during treatment. You can even see how much ‘gunk’ or dead skin cells, dirt and oils have been extracted from your skin afterwards, just ask our aesthetician to show you! It is the best deep clean for your skin.

What can Hydrafacial be used to treat and how does it benifit skin health?

Hydrafacial delivers long-term skin health removing dead skin cells and extracting impurities such as dirt and skin oils (sebum) while simultaneously bathing the new skin with cleansing, hydrating and moisturising serums.

It can be used to improve the appearance of:

  • Anti-ageing to reduce large pores, decrease fine lines, and lessen hyperpigmentation
  • Poor skin texture, tone, and a dull appearance
  • Acne and rosacea
  • Oily and congested skin, removing blackheads
Am I suitable for Hydrafacial?

HydraFacial is one of the most popular facial treatments around the world. It is suitable for men and women with all skin types and targets many of the most common skincare concerns like dryness, acne, and signs of ageing with little to no side effects. Even the most sensitive skin can easily tolerate a HydraFacial treatment, and the serums used during treatment can be customised for your unique skin condition. Our specialist skincare advisor and aesthetician will discuss this with you during your skincare consultation, when a full medical history will also be taken.

If you have an active infection or rash on your face, or the area being treated, then this will need to resolve before you can have a Hydrafacial treatment.

If you are pregnant or breast feeding, we kindly ask that you wait until after this time, even for this otherwise safe and gentle facial treatment.

Does Hydrafacial hurt and is it safe?

HydraFacial is a safe, hydrating, and non-irritating treatment that does not hurt during or after treatment. It is comfortable and relaxing, much like any pampering facial, although immediately after treatment you should expect some mild redness or pinkness to the skin for an hour or so. You can apply make-up immediately after treatment, but we always advise patients to avoid doing so.

Is there any downtime with a hydrafacial treatment?

There is no recovery or down time with a Hydrafacial so you will be able to return to work or your normal activities straight after the treatment.

What results can I expect and how long does it last?

Many patients see visible skin refinement and an even, more radiant skin tone after a single treatment, making this an ideal treatment in preparation for a special event 1-2 days after treatment. The smooth results and hydration may last 5 to 7 days or even longer.

However, Hydrafacial is not designed to be entirely a lifestyle or quick fix treatment, but part of a broader approach to skin health. Our specialist skincare advisor and aesthetician will recommend a bespoke treatment plan that usually includes a Hydrafacial treatment once per month or two to target, improve and maintain the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, uneven skin texture, pigmented spots, oily and congested skin, or acne-prone skin.

Results are therefore measured in the health of your skin and the improvements we can make over time.

How much will my treatment cost?

We believe in being transparent with our prices and want you to be fully aware and comfortable with the cost of your treatment. A full list of our prices can be found here. We will always agree a final price with you though before treatment commences.

The aim of Hydrafacial treatment is to restore and maintain skin health through a process of cleansing, extracting, and infusing the skin with hydrating serums. It offers instant, noticeable results with no downtime or irritation.

You will see an immediate improvement in the health of your skin after a single Hydrafacial treatment; however, specific skin problems will require a programme of treatments, often in combination with other treatments. For optimum, continued results, regular monthly Hydrafacial sessions are recommended.

A treatment with Hydrafacial takes approximately 30 minutes.

Hydrafacial is a non-invasive facial treatment that is not associated with any pain or discomfort, most patients find it a relaxing and pampering experience.

There is no recovery needed after a Hydrafacial treatment, you can return to work and your normal activities immediately, with a refreshing glow to your skin.
