Award-winning private clinic in Lancashire
Are you having difficulty getting a GP appointment?
Have you seen your GP for a medical concern and are now stuck in a waiting list for a referral to see a specialist?
Does your GP service not offer the treatment you need? Maybe you are struggling to get a prescription or have a health concern that your GP is not getting to the bottom of? Maybe you just can't get a GP appointment when you need one, no matter how hard you try?
If any of these situations sound familiar to your experiences with primary care services, then we can help!
For a long time now, we have been listening to patients and the local and national NHS announcements and considering ways in which we can help people gain more control over their general health.
We always talk about the need for early diagnosis and the positive impact that has on successful treatment. This is why, we have decided to introduce a new Private GP Service here in clinic. With many patients coming to us daily with their dermatology and skin concerns, current health and medical history are also discussed. This gives us a good insight into our patient’s all-around health needs and frustrations with the primary care services they may receive.
We want to change this! We’re on a mission to provide a quick and efficient way of treating patients. Getting them fast access to healthcare services and being seen by experienced GPs. With the convenience of being able to get a GP appointment to discuss any concerns, in a comfortable and caring environment.
Blemish Clinic offers a private GP service that provides comprehensive medical examinations to address various health issues or shorter appointments for specific health concerns. Our service includes blood tests, urine analysis, ECGs, and the opportunity to discuss specific or multiple health issues. Our dedicated GPs prioritise building personal relationships with patients. In addition to women’s and men’s health, our focus is on promoting wellness and preventing diseases.

How do Private GP Appointments work?
Step 1 - Book A Private GP Appointment
We offer two lengths of private GP appointments. The first of these is a 15-minute appointment. This option is great for people wishing to discuss a single health condition. The second option is a 30-minute appointment. This choice is for people wishing to discuss more than one health concern. Appointments can be carried out either face to face in clinic, via Zoom video consultation or over the telephone (dependant on the condition).
Step 2 - Your GP Appointment
During your appointment, your GP will discuss your current condition as well as your current state of health and your previous medical history. Once the examination is complete, they will discuss the next steps of treatment. Should you need a referral, this will be carried out once your appointment is complete. If you require any prescription medication or further testing such as blood testing or swab samples, there will be an extra cost for these services. These costs will be discussed with you. The cost of a private prescription is £25.
Step 3 - Follow Up
Should you require a follow up appointment, this will be discussed with you and arranged for a time that is convenient to you. Again any further costs for follow-up appointments or further treatment will be discussed with you first.
"Saw Dr Yetunde who was excellent. She listened well and gave very good feedback and a plan of action to address medical concerns. She invited Jan to give a second opinion which informed the treatment plan. Both ladies were professional and instilled confidence. I left feeling confident that my health concerns had been listened to and going forward have confidence that the plan of action suggested will address my concerns."Private general practitioners offer a wide range of services similar to those provided by traditional doctors, such as health evaluations, exams, diagnostic imaging, and medication prescriptions. Patients seeking specialized care may find comfort and peace of mind in consulting with a private GP, as the longer appointments allow for a closer bond between doctor and patient, fostering a stronger working relationship."

Private GPs can provide many of the same services that a traditional doctor can, including health checks, tests, investigative services, and prescription medications. Often collaborating with private hospitals or primary care trusts, enabling them to efficiently access information and arrange medical procedures without the need for patients to endure long waiting times. With your permission, a summary of your appointment and recommendations can be sent to your NHS GP. The most common reasons that patients opt for private GP services primarily are due to waiting times and being unable to arrange a convenient appointment at their general practice. Despite the cost, individuals dealing with long-term or urgent health issues view the high level of patient care provided by private GPs as highly valuable, making the expense well worthwhile.
